Reuters reported that Swiatek was initially considered a strong contender for the gold medal. She expressed that the expectations placed upon her during the Olympics created immense pressure. She admitted, "I realized yesterday that I wasn't really fighting for myself, but more for others, for my country, my team, and for everyone who hoped I would win a medal or even the gold."

Swiatek also stated, "Yesterday might have been one of the most painful losses of my career. I cried for about six hours yesterday, which was really hard to bear." She added, "I think if I didn't have a match today, I would have cried for a week."

Reflecting on her attitude, she said, "I might have been a bit arrogant, thinking that because I had withstood such great pressure before, I could handle this pressure as well." Now, she says, "I really want to work harder, and I think I will be more humble."

Xinhua reported that on August 1st, in the women's singles semi-final at Roland Garros Stadium, Qin Wen defeated the top-seeded, world number one Swiatek with a score of 6-2, 7-5, advancing to the final. According to WTA (Women's Tennis Association) data, this was Qin Wen's first victory in seven encounters with Swiatek.
